Chief Executive Officer

Phil Smith

Phil Smith

Phillip S. Smith is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Warren County Convention & Visitors Bureau. He served on the WCCVB board as its Treasurer prior to becoming President & CEO in 2010. Before joining the WCCVB, Phillip spent 15 years in professional tennis as the chief marketing officer for Cincinnati’s Western & Southern Open, one of the oldest, largest and most-prestigious professional tennis tournaments in the world. His responsibilities with the tournament included advertising, national and international television, branding, hotel operations, sponsor sales and support, media relations, public relations, and strategic planning. He's also the author of a book on the tournament entitled From Club Court to Center Court, the Evolution of Professional Tennis in Cincinnati. The book reached the No. 7 position on the Cincinnati Enquirer’s Best Seller List for Nonfiction and has sold nationally and internationally. Phillip actually started working with the tournament in 1988 as a year-round consultant with one of the Midwest’s largest marketing firms. At the firm, he served other clients as well including Hillshire Farm & Kahn’s, Cincinnati Bell Long Distance, the International Self Storage Association, Hart Productions, PNC Bank, Skyline Chili and others including former Cincinnati Reds player and manager Pete Rose. Phillip also owned his own marketing firm, with clients primarily in the fields of health care and education. Phillip is a Past President of the Ohio Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus and the Greater Cincinnati Tennis Association, has been a member of the advisory board for Xavier University’s WVXU-FM, and has chaired the Marketing & Communications Committee for the Midwest Section of the United States Tennis Association. Among other accolades, Phil was enshrined into the Cincinnati Tennis Hall of Fame in 2012, received the 2006 Queen City Advocate Award from the Cincinnati CVB for promotion of the city of Cincinnati, and received the 2004 Fred Burns Award from the Midwest Section of the United States Tennis Association for promotion of tennis in the Midwest. Phillip is a graduate of the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University, and earned his CDME (Certified Destination Management Executive) in 2014 from a thesis in destination leadership. He resides in Mason, Ohio.

Director of Finance & HR

Ian Groves

Ian Groves

Ian M. Groves is the Director of Finance & Human Resources for the Warren County Convention & Visitors Bureau, and has been with the bureau since July, 2009. Ian’s duties at the WCCVB include overseeing of the day-to-day operations of accounting, human resources, and information technology. He is integral in the formulation of the annual budget, monthly reconciliations and analysis, tax returns and required filings, and the bi-annual audit process, among other responsibilities. Before joining the WCCVB, Ian worked in a similar position for 12 years with the Dayton Montgomery County CVB, in Dayton, Ohio. He also has 13 years of experience in positions in the lodging industry, holding positions with Red Lion Hotels in Vancouver, Washington, and Denver, Colorado, and with Marriott Hotels in Chicago, St. Louis and Dayton. Ian has served his community, including as Treasurer of the Centerville School Orchestra Supporters organization. Ian earned his MBA from Wright State University and his bachelor’s degree in business from Eastern Illinois University. He also earned an Associate in Arts in Business from Harper College of Palatine, Illinois. He currently resides with his family in the Dayton area.

Executive Assistant & Office Manager

Nichole Detamore

Nichole Detamore

Nichole Detamore is the Executive Assistant & Office Manager for the Warren County Convention & Visitors Bureau. She has been with the WCCVB since May of 2019. Nichole’s duties include not only office management and administration, but finance, human resource and marketing projects as well. Nichole has worked in various operational accounting and finance roles throughout her career. Prior to joining the WCCVB, Nichole served as an Account Manager for Government and State Contracts in the healthcare industry, providing staffing solutions for hospitals, and other healthcare organizations. She and her son currently reside in Miamisburg.

Director of Marketing & Communications

Scott Hutchinson

Scott Hutchinson

Scott Hutchinson is the Director of Marketing & Communications for the Warren County Convention & Visitors Bureau, and has been with the WCCVB since June of 2014. Scott oversees the bureau’s leisure marketing efforts, managing its advertising and public relations campaigns, as well as the production of its blog content, e-newsletters and annual Visitors Guide. Prior to joining the WCCVB, Scott held roles with the Cincinnati Enquirer, the Western & Southern Open and Ryan Partnership - a creative agency in Columbus, Ohio. He also had the opportunity to serve as a correspondent at the 2012 Summer Olympic Games. Scott is a graduate of the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University and resides in Cincinnati.

Manager of Marketing & Communications

Stacha Yundt

Stacha Yundt

Stacha Yundt is the Manager of Marketing & Communications for the Warren County Convention & Visitor’s Bureau. She has been with the WCCVB since August of 2019. Stacha manages the digital landscape of the WCCVB from the website to its social media, creating digital assets and contributing to blog posts. Prior to joining the WCCVB, Stacha held roles with the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, the University of Cincinnati International Office, and Game Day - a public relations agency based in Cincinnati, OH. Stacha completed both her undergraduate and post-graduate degrees with the University of Cincinnati’s McMicken College of Arts and Sciences.

Director of Sports Enterprises

Ben Huffman

Ben Huffman

Ben Huffman is the Director of Sports Enterprises for the Warren County Convention & Visitors Bureau, and has been with the bureau since 2006. Since joining the sports marketing department – known as Warren County Sports – Ben has overseen growth in sports-related hotel room night bookings, hosted events, and created events. Before joining the WCCVB, Ben worked as an Assistant Director of the Alumni Association at Miami University, with specific responsibility for the Alumni Chapter Program, coordinating events with more than 45 alumni chapters throughout the nation. Ben received his bachelors and masters degrees in Education from Miami University. While studying at Miami, he also served as a student manager and volunteer assistant for the men’s basketball team. Ben earned the designation of Certified Sports Event Executive in 2010. Ben lives with his wife and four children in Cincinnati.

Senior Manager of Sports Operations

Scott Hofmann

Scott Hofmann

Scott Hofmann is the Senior Manager of Sports Operations at the Warren County Convention & Visitors Bureau. Scott joined the WCCVB as an intern in the summer of 2007, returned as a part-time staff member in 2008, and became a full-time employee in November, 2009. Scott assists all of the annual sporting events affiliated with the WCCVB, and is heavily involved in the event operations for the events owned by the WCCVB. Scott helps to research, create, plan and run events, and works with the area hotels and other partners in Warren County as well. Scott received his bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the University of Cincinnati in 2005 and earned a master’s degree in Education and Sport Administration from Xavier University in 2007. Scott earned the designation of Certified Sports Event Executive in 2014. Scott currently resides in Maineville, Ohio.

Facilities Manager

Britt Barry

Britt Barry

Britt Barry is the Facilities Manager for the Warren County Convention & Visitors Bureau, and has been with the bureau since the spring of 2019. Britt oversees the facilities and grounds at the Warren County Sports Park at Union Village. Before joining the bureau, Britt received his bachelor’s degree in agronomy at Wilmington College and worked in turf grass management for numerous professional baseball, golf and soccer facilities. Britt was honored with the Sports Turf Manager of the Year Award in Minor League Baseball's Midwest League in 2017, and also won the STMA National Mowing Pattern Contest in 2016. Britt is active in the sports turf community, serving as Vice President for the Ohio Sports Turf Managers Association. Britt resides with his wife and daughter in Jamestown, Ohio.
