Tribute to the Armed Forces at Kings Island

Kings Island prides itself on providing world-class thrills, fun and family entertainment for guests of all ages. Kings Island is also proud of the brave men and women who serve in the U.S. military and is pleased to announce plans for its Tribute to the Armed Forces program during the 2013 season.

Kings Island's Tribute to the Armed Forces program will offer a free regular admission ticket to any active or retired military personnel Memorial Day weekend (May 24-27) and Fourth of July (July 3-5).

Military personnel who qualify for the discount include active military, retired military, National Guard, veterans with honorable or medical discharge and Reserve Officers' Training Corps.

Along with free admission, active and retired members of the military will be able to purchase discount admission tickets for members of their immediate family (maximum of six) at a special military discount price of $29.99.

A valid military ID must be presented at the Kings Island ticket window May 24-27 and July 3-5 to take advantage of this offer.

The Great Fossil Hunt

The ancient Ordovician Sea has disappeared, but evidence of marine life is abundant in the Caesar Creek Region. Meet at the Visitor Center for a program about these fascinating creatures, including the trilobite. Afterward, to the to the Emergency Spillway to identify and study a diversity of fossils.

Summerfair

Summerfair 2013 returns for the 46th year on May 31, June 1 and June 2. The fair, located at Cincinnati's historic Coney Island, will feature more than 300 fine artists and craftspeople from around the country as well as regional performers, a variety of gourmet arts, and the Youth Arts Rocks! area for kids.

Dirty Girl Mud Run

Dirty Girl is a 5k womens only run for women of all ages and athletic abilities. Don't worry, it's not a "race" in the traditional sense. It is an untimed obstacle course designed to push you slightly out of your comfort zone, but only as far as you are comfortable going. Forming teams is encouraged, and so is helping your fellow Dirty Girls get through to the finish. At a Dirty Girl Mud Run you'll find excitement, laughter, and camaraderie—as well as lots of music and even some adult beverages. It's a day you'll never forget.

Caesar's Creek State Park

Tai Chi Class for Mental & Physical Health Anyone Can Do!

Tai Chi is a Chinese martial art practiced currently for its health benefits. Many practice Tai Chi as a means for dealing with tension and stress. Tai chi emphasizes complete relaxation and meditation and has been described as “meditation in motion.” Tai chi exercises are soft, slow flowing movements that emphasize internal force (chi) rather than brute strength. The famous Mayo Clinic studies report “Tai Chi can help Reduce Stress, Increase flexibility, increase energy, stamina and balance.” Instructor: Dr. Larry C. Bobbert has been practicing Tai Chi for over 25 years, has second degree black belt in Aikido and training in several styles of karate, arnis and cane self defense. He has been adjunct faculty for Morehead University, Eastern Kentucky U,and Midway College. Dr. Bobbert began Tai Chi classes in West Chester in 2011
