2017 Lebanon Blues Festival

Blues, BBQ, Classic Car Show & the Red Hot Blues Run all work together on the First Saturday in August in downtown Lebanon. This event is hosted by the Lebanon Opitmist Club. The festival is family friendly and offers a variety of blues music by well-known musicians. The beer garden offers an assortment of adult beverages for purchase. The City hosts a 5K, 10k and 15k run as well as a kids walk – proceeds benefit the city park system. The downtown shops are open and there are several craft booths incorporated in the event.

  As part of our "Gatherings at Glendower" series, join us at Glendower Historic Mansion, when the mansion’s third owner, the Grand Dame of Lebanon, Ladora Scoville Owens, hosts a Gypsy Fortune Tellers Tea. Ladora owned Glendower from 1904 to 1940 during the heyday of Spiritualism and gypsy fortune tellers. She’s invited you to an afternoon tea buffet and to meet her special guests, the “Gypsy Fortune Tellers.” Guests will enjoy a tour of the mansion and a variety of tea sandwiches and tea cookies while sipping iced tea . 2017 Healthy Kids Triathlon

Online registration is now open for the annual Healthy Kids’ Triathlon to be held at Countryside YMCA on Sat. Aug. 19 at 8:30am. Area youth can swim, bike, run and cross the finish line as champions.

“The Healthy Kids’ Triathlon gives the youth and families of our community an opportunity to grow closer together encouraging good health and fostering connections through fitness, sports, and fun,” said Countryside YMCA Aquatics Director Holly Colón.

Ages 6-8 will swim 50 meters, bike a 5k, and run 1k. Ages 9–11 will swim 100 meters, bike 7k and run a 1.5k. Ages 12–14 will swim 150 meters, bike a 10k, and run a 2.5k. All swims will take place in the Countryside YMCA Outdoor Pool; bike rides will take place on the Countryside/Lebanon Bike Trail and the cross country running route is on Countryside YMCA outdoor fields and the Hewitt P. Mulford Nature Trail. Youth will be on YMCA property for the entire event.

Registration and check in start at 7:30am on race day, and the race begins at 8:30am. The $30 entrance fee covers a participant t-shirt, finisher’s medal, goody bag and admission for themselves and one adult to the Family Fun-Fest immediately following the event. The entry fee also allows each child, if they choose, to have a parent in the pool during the swim event.
Proceeds from the Healthy Kids’ Triathlon support the YMCA’s Annual Campaign, which funds socially responsible programs such as the Lebanon City School Begin-to Swim Program.
