Christmas in the Country

Thanksgiving weekend thru December 31st

Day One

Friday Evening

5:00–9:00 p.m.: Paramount’s Kings Island Winterfest – experience holiday magic, a nostalgic “home for the holidays” train ride, Christmas parade, holiday light show, live musical performance and other live entertainment. Indulge yourself with a holiday feast at the Winterfest Haus or the boisterously decorated Bubba Gump Shrimp Shack.

9:30 p.m. Check-in at hotel.

Day Two

Until 9:00 a.m.: Breakfast at the hotel.

9:00–10:00 a.m.: Kings Mills Christmas Shop & General Store – Wander from room to room and discover ornaments and decorations for every holiday season or occasion. The Kings Mills Christmas Shop & General Store is the exclusive dealer in Ohio and one of only 25 dealers in the United States for Patricia Breen Hand Made Glass ornaments.

10:30–12:30 p.m.: Big Tree Plantation – Visit a Christmas Tree Farm and enjoy a wagon ride through the plantation followed by a hot cup of cocoa. Browse in their unique Holly Days Gift Shop, located in a 100+ year-old barn, with thousands of dazzling ornaments and specialty gifts. Over 15 hand-decorated trees adorn the barn, each having a different theme.

1:00–2:00 p.m.: Lunch at The Golden Lamb. Established in 1803, Ohio’s oldest continuously operating inn where 10 Presidents have visited. Enjoy viewing their many Shaker displays.

2:00–3:00 p.m.: Stroll around an early era Village Green and other exhibits of days gone by, at the Warren County Historical Museum, which includes entire gallery of Shaker artifacts. Certain days during December, the Glendower State Memorial is open for guests to view one of the finest examples of residential Greek Revival architecture. Built between 1836 and 1840, this mansion is decorated in period holiday décor. Please call for exact dates.

4:00–6:00 p.m.: Shop in one of many antique & specialty shops in Lebanon.

6:30–9:00 p.m.: Take a tour of a national award winning winery, Valley Vineyards. Sample the many juices and wines made on the premises. The grills are fired up and ready for a cookout, where you choose your New York strip steak. Featured on the all you can eat buffet: fresh salads, vegetables, baked potato, breads and a variety of fresh pies baked there on the premises.

Day Three

10:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m.: Sample the various sweet treats that await you at Friesinger’s Fine Chocolates and Gift Shop before enjoying brunch and a Holiday production at LaComedia Dinner Theatre.
