Student Travel to Warren County

Day One
Morning:
Visit Morgan's Canoe & Nature Center for an educational float trip down the Scenic Little Miami River. Experience the "soft" adventure of this professionally guided tour on non-capsizable rafts as you learn about the river's ecology and cultural history. At the end of the journey, enjoy a catered lunch at Morgan's Riverside Campground with other outdoor activities, including a climbing wall.

Afternoon:
Continue the cultural experience with a visit to Ft. Ancient, a National Historic Landmark with the nation's finest example of a Hopewell Indian prehistoric hilltop enclosure. Over three miles of earthen walls surround this 100 acre enclosure on a high bluff overlooking the Scenic Little Miami River. Discover the lifestyles of these cultures through guided tours of the museum with 9000 square feet of exhibit space that covers the Ice Age to the present day.

Evening:
From prehistoric Indians to the Knights of the Round Table. Enjoy a tour at the Historic Loveland Castle. Built by the hands of one man, come see this authentic castle and experience activities that Sir Harry and the Knights have created. Picnic area provided so...bring your own meal.

Day Two
Morning:
The National Museum of the United States Air Force, the largest and oldest military aviation museum in the world. Located near Dayton, Ohio, this unique attraction tells the exciting story of aviation development from the days of the Wright Brothers at Kitty Hawk to the present.

Afternoon:
For lunch, enjoy a hearty meal of melt-in-your-mouth Amish kitchen cooking at Der Dutchman Restaurant in Waynesville followed by a visit to nearby Caesar's Creek Pioneer Village. This old pioneer village takes students back in time to the 1800's, and includes log houses, cabins, barns, blacksmith shop, a general store, smoke house, working gardens, church and privies. There's a celebration every year with costumed re-enactors, soap and candle-making, and vegetable harvesting. At nearby Caesar's Creek Lake, groups can partake in fossil collecting and other education programs.

Evening:
After dinner at one of our "student friendly" restaurants, make a visit to the Beach Waterpark, 35 acres full of water rides and a wave pool, or the new Great Wolf Lodge (opening in late 2006) with an 80,000 square foot indoor waterpark, children's craft room and a 100-game arcade.

Day Three
Morning:
In the spring, Kings Island, rated the world's best seasonal theme park, offers a hands-on approach to experiential learning with labs, simulations, and demonstrations at Math and Science Days. The park is open exclusively to teachers and students for this educational event. Throughout the park, you'll be able to take measurements, completing activity papers and gaining a new understanding of the practical side of what you learn in the classroom. Experiencing rides while studying the math and science behind them enriches both the ride and the concepts involved. During regular season, visit Kings Island to enjoy more than 80 rides and attractions, and a water park voted one of the top five in the world.

Afternoon/Evening:
If the kids still need to burn off some energy, head over to Lazer Kraze, the area's largest laser tag arena and the only tri-level arena in Ohio. This is the ultimate in laser tag with a technologically-advanced laser tag system, a professionally-themed arena with a great sound system and special effects lighting, all in a well-designed, clean and family-friendly environment.
