4 Can't-Miss Events in Ohio's Largest Playground this August

Don't worry–summer isn't over just yet! August is full of events that you won’t want to miss! Grab your calendar and get ready to make the most out of the summer before it disappears for another year!

The Cincinnati Open — Aug 5th-17th

The Cincinnati Open has been serving up fun and competition since 1899, and this year promises to be the biggest and best yet! Following a massive $260 million campus renovation and the decision to expand the tournament to a full two-weeks of action, this year’s Cincinnati Open will be un-fore-gettable!

The Cincinnati Open is the longest running tournament still played in its original city and is the third largest tennis event in the United States.

Come out and celebrate the 126th year of the Cincinnati open and watch some of the best tennis players go head-to-head right here in Warren County!

Meteor Shower Campout at Caesar Creek State Park — August 9th-10th (4pm-10am)

Grab your sleeping bags and the whole family to watch the summer sky come to life with a perfect view of the Perseid Meteor Shower on the beach! Enjoy family fun games, star-gazing and a bonfire before the meteor shower starts. Food and drinks will be available and all funds raised will support the park, trails and programs at Caesar Creek. Pre-registration and overnight camping is not required to participate but recommended.

Hidden Valley Orchards Family Farm days — August 8th & 9th (10-am-12pm)

Head over to Hidden Valley Orchards to enjoy an afternoon full of family fun at the farm this summer! Learn about apple blossoms and orchard education through a guided and interactive experience while rotating through a series of farm stations. Guests will also meet the farm animals, enjoy a wildlife and nature talk and more!

Ohio Renaissance Festival Opening — Weekend August 30th-September 1st

Step back in time and kick off the fall season with the opening weekend of the Ohio Renaissance Festival! Explore the medieval village of Willy Nilly-on-the-Wash and get ready for another season packed with live shows, mouth-watering food, one of a kind shopping and more!

From the must-have turkey leg to the pineapple dole whip, make sure you come ready to feast. Whether you come as you are or in full costume, there’s fun for all at the Ohio Renaissance Festival, recently ranked as the second best renaissance faire in the nation!
