Discover Camp Snoopy - Kings Island's Awesome New Kids' Area!

Blog by Stacha Yundt

Kings Island might best be known for its record-crushing coasters, but Warren County’s favorite amusement park is a destination for thrill seekers of all ages. Planet Snoopy, Kings Island’s award-winning kids’ area, is chock full of Peanuts-themed rides, games and experiences — and now, it’s bigger and better than ever.

In May of 2024 Kings Island debuted Camp Snoopy, the highly anticipated expansion to the park's already awesome Planet Snoopy kids' area. This little slice of summer camp has plenty to offer both the young and the young at heart.

Snoopy’s Soap Box Racers

This isn’t your Dad’s soap box derby race. This all-new boomerang coaster invites guests to climb aboard their favorite Peanuts-decorated soap box car to be hoisted up 70 feet to the race’s starting line. At speeds reaching 36 miles per hour, follow the twists and turns of the course and then do it all again — backwards! A coaster unlike anything else you’ll find in the kids’ area of the park, Snoopy’s Soap Box Racers is sure to thrill visitors.

Beagle Scout Acres

Another new addition to the area, Beagle Scout Acres is bound to become a fast favorite for parents and kids alike. Featuring a huge play area with no shortage of slides to tumble down, hills to climb up, logs to leap from and more, Beagle Scout Acres is completely shaded and offers a comfortable place to play and beat the heat.

You’ll also find counselors here ready to lead your campers in various camptivities, and can often catch up with Snoopy and Charlie Brown for character meet and greets.

Pigpen’s Mess Hall

It just wouldn’t be summer camp without some good ole grub, which is just what Pigpen is cooking up at his all new mess hall in Camp Snoopy. Find plenty of camp-appropriate fare like hot dogs or a sausage platter, and don’t forget to leave room for dessert! Satisfy your sweet tooth with a S’mores Brownie or a deep fried PB&J.

Classic Rides Get the Camp Snoopy Treatment

A few of Planet Snoopy’s already existing rides have also been looped into the Camp Snoopy expansion. Formerly known as Race For Your Life Charlie Brown, the popular log flume has been renamed Charlie Brown’s Rushing River Log Ride, and got the makeover to match.

When Franklin’s not too busy announcing races over at Snoopy’s Soap Box Racers, you can find him at his very own Franklin’s Flyers, which had previously been known as Woodstock Gliders.

Finally, one of the area’s other major coasters, long known as Flying Ace Aerial Chase, has new look and name: Woodstock’s Air Rail.

Get ready to become a full fledged Beagle Scout and take on everything Camp Snoopy (and the rest of Kings Island) has to offer this summer in Ohio's Largest Playground!
