String Attached...An Evening of Classical Guitar
Mason Community Players present Strings Attached… An Evening of Classical Guitar on May 22, 2026. The concert will be presented at the Mason Community Playhouse located at 5529 Mason Road, Mason.
Strings Attached… An Evening of Classical Guitar will feature the music of four students from the Childbloom Guitar Program of St. Louis.
Childbloom is a national program with 22 studios located in 16 states. It started in 1980 and was the first national program to introduce music to students specifically through guitar. Childbloom is the largest program of its kind in the US, accepting interested students from age 5 and up.
The four students who will perform are Jonah Rosenthal, Josh Hughes, Harmony Catlin, and Kai Bealmer. These students range in age from 13 to 18.
They will perform in ensemble and as soloists. The concert will highlight works from Olga Amelina Vera, Andrew York, Dieter Kiedler, and Kevin Taylor.
The four classical guitarists were invited by a recording studio to record a professional audio track. Because Harmony Catlin, granddaughter of Phil and Laureen Catlin, is among the four performers, Childbloom asked whether area residents could host each performer and a family member or two. Some MCP members have stepped up to do just that.
Strings Attached… An Evening of Classical Guitar starts at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome to hang around after the concert to socialize.
The cost of admission is a 50/50 raffle ticket for $1 or as many raffle tickets as you would like to support Mason Community Players and Childbloom Guitar Program.
