Warren County Attractions, Festivals to Once Again Fuel Busy Fall Travel Season
WARREN COUNTY, OH (September 5, 2019) - The Ohio Sauerkraut Festival, Ohio Renaissance Festival, Kings Island’s Halloween Haunt and more autumn attractions are expected to once again draw huge crowds to Southwest Ohio this fall, according to the Warren County Convention & Visitors Bureau (WCCVB).
Running Saturdays and Sundays now through October 27, the Ohio Renaissance Festival is celebrating its 30th year with new attractions, shows and vendors in 2019. Billed as a “non-stop, day-long adventure,” the festival features hundreds of costumed characters, live daily shows, artisan craft shops and era-inspired food and drink.
Also celebrating a major milestone this fall, Waynesville’s Ohio Sauerkraut Festival turns 50 this year, and will feature more than seven tons of sauerkraut creations, plus 450-plus craft vendors, from October 12 to 13.
Lebanon’s Feast & Fall-y (Sept. 28) and Country AppleFest (Sept. 28-29) also will rank among the region’s most popular food and craft gatherings this autumn. This will mark the first year that Country AppleFest has spanned two days.
Halloween-themed attractions ranging from family-friendly to highly intense will also open their doors in the coming weeks. Kings Island’s Halloween Haunt will welcome guests Friday and Saturday nights September 20 through October 27, while The Great Pumpkin Fest - the park’s family-focused Halloween celebration - will run Saturdays and Sundays from September 22 through October 27.
Hosted on the grounds of the Ohio Renaissance Festival, Brimstone Haunt will return for its third year in action this fall, and will feature three haunted experiences, including one entirely new maze, Fridays and Saturdays from September 27 through October 26.
Open year-round, Oregonia’s Ozone Zipline Adventures is one of the largest tree-top canopy zip line tours in the Midwest. Home to full-moon night zipping select weekend nights throughout the year, the course will offer a special Halloween-inspired tour - Zipping from Zombies - October 11-12.
Regarded as one of the nation’s most-haunted villages, Downtown Waynesville will once again host guided walking tours select October evenings.
Clarksville, Ohio’s Bonnybrook Farms will treat guests to hay rides, pumpkin patches, corn mazes and more at its Fall Farm Days held Saturdays and Sundays from September 28 through October 27.
The LM&M Railroad’s Fall Flyer returns this year, offering guests nostalgic train rides through the Warren County countryside select Saturdays and Sundays in October. The seasonal rides also include free pumpkin pie and on-board entertainment.
Finally, Kings Island’s WinterFest will once again welcome guests to enjoy ice skating, light shows, holiday shopping, festive food and more select dates beginning in late November.
