Between 1815 and 1864, the City of Springboro was considered one of Ohio's busiest stops on the Underground Railroad . In fact, the Springboro area community is nationally recognized as a Historic Underground Railroad Site. As home to 27 documented safe houses, more than any other Ohio community, the Springboro Area Historical Society offers guided walking tours of many of these sites still located within historic downtown Springboro.
